We've implemented this one through a different way than a status for the book: through Filter Lists.

On any book, or author, there's a new "Visibility" button. You can select "Hide" from there and it'll remove that list from across the site.

If you deicide you'd still want to see it, you could create a "Filter Label" called something like "Not Interested" and add your books to that.

It's not exactly a status, but it solves the same issue. It also doesn't add those books to your library. You can have books that are in any status "read", etc, but then mark that author as "hidden". That would hide all books by those authors across the platform, but still show books you've read by them on your Read list.

The end result to readers is the same: the books don't show up for you! 👯‍♂️

Hello! Good news -

While we aren't at this time adding more statuses, we are working on the concept of a moderation or "ignore" list where you will be able to hide books or authors that you are not interested in from the UI.

We are tracking the status of that one here.

I'd love to this with authors I don't want recommended to me too, but I feel like that's much more complicated

I had a GR shelf called not-for-me that I used for books that I knew I was going to keep "finding" and getting excited about before remembering that actually this one has something about it that means I don't want to read it.

It was super helpful to be able to see that shelf tag right there every time I came across the book, without wasting time investigating it (again). I'd love a top-level indicator like that for HC.
