Maybe just add a setting to a list that allows it to be "edition specific" or something like that? Sometimes I do not care about the edition, but in other places I would like to see a particular one.

This is a great idea. I would love to create a "special editions" list where all the books I own a special edition of (or that I want to have) appear on the list. And I would love to see the specific edition I want (even multiple different editions of the same book) on the list, instead of the main one!

I'd really love for this to be a thing too. I just created a list for the books I own in physical format (vs Owned that includes any format) and I wish I could select the specific editions I own.
Basically I'd like it if "add to list" could be on the edition level and not/not just on the book level.

I just realised that, while I'll probably use Hardcover to organise my book wishlist, I can't e.g. send it to relatives who want to know what to gift me on my birthday etc. They wouldn't know there's a Portuguese version they can actually buy (relatively cheaply) in Brazil just by looking at the title / cover if it's in English. So this feature would really help.
