I would absolutely love this as well. Sadly I just can't get all of my friends to leave Goodreads, so I still go there for a lot of their recommendations, etc. Having to go there, find a recommendation, go back to Hardcover, search, then add to "Want to read" is pretty cumbersome.

It would be amazing if I could add it to my "Want to read" list on Goodreads and have that auto-sync to Hardcover. And similar for when I read a book on Hardcover, to have that sync back to Goodreads so that my friends there can still keep up with what I'm reading as well. But the first thing is the biggest priority for me (keeping my want to read list from Goodreads in sync with Hardcover).

This is my main difficulty with using Hardcover is that it's really hard to get my IRL friends to leave Goodreads and I really rely on their recommendations a lot to find my next reads.

Hiya, we are doing a bit of a revamp of our priorities and this roadmap at the moment, so I'll be resetting this suggestion's status until we get a better idea of what we are working on next!

Any news on this? I wanted to import my Goodreads library but unfortunately start date was not included, and I don't really want to handle it manually.

Goodreads exports don't include start date for when you began reading each book. That's reason enough to implement this. Whether we do 2-way sync or just full import is to be determined.
