Yes, indeed! Not to drop names, but bookshelfapp.info does this pretty nicely for instance:

• press + button to add a book
• pop-up to choose between scan (1 book) / scan (multiple books) / search for book / add book manually
• seeing how HC works, it would be nice at this point to be able to directly mark a book as owned and its reading status (want/current/read) while adding it, in order to save time

For very large libraries, this would be a fantastic addition!
