Genre/Mood/Tag cleanup

The genres, moods, and tags are getting a little chaotic. There are quite a few duplicates floating around (nonfiction, non-fiction etc), sometimes due to typos, and some overlap between categories too (genre: adventure, mood: adventurous, tag: adventure). This makes discovery harder for readers and also muddies up statistics.

A couple of ideas that might help:

  1. LLM assistance. Basically an AI pass to merge duplicates and synonyms into canonical terms or summaries, without needing to share any user data with third-party services.

  2. Curated controlled vocabulary. Swap free-text input for a well-thought-out predefined list, keeping things consistent from the start.

Either way, a bit more structure here would go a long way.

Librarian here. I wouldn't agree with the LLM, personally, but I think curated lists could be a good idea. Maybe with the option to manually add one. Or possibly to request an option be added, something we could do while double checking there isn't already en equivalent in the list. I'd be interested to know what would people find easier, reading through the list and picking a pre-existing option or adding one themselves. Because if it's the second, then it wouldn't really help much with this issue.

Or maybe just another kind of structure, maybe as they type they could get suggestions, but that could be complicated coding wise (no clue, really).
