Right now the only way to find people to follow on Hardcover is to search for their username directly, which makes it hard to discover friends who are already using the app. I'd love the ability to link external accounts (Instagram, phone contacts, Strava, etc.) so Hardcover can privately match against them and suggest people I already know. This is standard in most social apps and would make the "who do I follow" cold-start problem much easier. Ideally this would be opt-in and clear about what's being matched (e.g., hashed phone numbers/emails rather than uploading a raw contact list) for privacy.
