Currently if I want to know what language a book was originally written in, or what was the original title, I have to go to editions, find the oldest one, see what language it's in and how it's called. An imperfect process since the original edition might not be on Hardcover, the data might be missing or wrong, and the title might include things like "Volume One" etc. Oftentimes I have to sleuth the web to find that information. Hardcover having this as a data field for books would give it an edge over other platforms I think.
By default it could simply take in the oldest edition language, and be overwritable by librarians. Alternatively, an edition could be marked as First Edition to derive not only those two fields, but also other fields such as Release Date.
I have attached a mockup of what this might look like.
