Hi, Emma from the dev team here - I know this is our most highly-voted roadmap request, so for transparency I just wanted to share where we are at.
So we currently don't have any official plans to work on eReader integrations in 2026. One reason is that for Kindle specifically, there is no easy way to hook into it - Amazon owns both Goodreads and Kindle, so the two work very well together, but unfortunately we can't achieve the same sort of integration (as far as I know).
The other reason is that our community has done a great job of building out some plugins, if you use a Kobo or other eReader devices:
https://github.com/crocodilestick/Calibre-Web-Automated/discussions/442
https://github.com/cyberk/goodreads-hardcover-sync
I know this might not be the news you want to hear (sorry!) but I hope the clarity helps.
Do Moon Reader please!
Putting in a vote for integration with Readwise Reader and Libro.fm.
worth noting that if you have a Calibre-Web Automated server set up for Kobo sync on your device it can already do this as of the August release:

Not sure exactly how but it's been working for me ever since that release of the CWA server
worth noting that theres already a 3rd party implementation of this if you're using koreader
https://github.com/Billiam/hardcoverapp.koplugin
I also wanto to mention this one: https://github.com/koreader/koreader
Since there's broad compatility with many e-reading devices this also will help to get access on lots of devices
Other resources to maybe look at.

Following conversation on the Discord: possibly could be done with Calibre plugins?
Leaving some resources to look into for this one:

It'd likely be either impossible or a total hack-job, but if you all could figure out how I could easily push or sync my in-eBook highlights to Hardcover.app, I would be super jazzed.
+1. My #1 Goodreads feature is that when I finish a book on my Kindle, it automatically updates to Read status. I care less about progress than completion but this is the killer feature for me.
elyse But that is something Amazon is able to bake into Kindle because they own Goodreads. I don't see how another app could be able to do this unless maybe there is a way to get an app onto an eReader.
