On Goodreads I have a custom exclusive shelf (status) that I call a wish list. These are books that I am interested in but have not bought or borrowed from somewhere.
Right now I am trying to track this by making a wishlist List, but I still have to assign it a Status so it goes on Want to read. But this means these books are mixed among the books I do have.
What happens is that I scroll through my Want to read books and there is no indication which books I have and which ones I don't. I then have to go into each book to look and see if its on that Wishlist list. Its annoying and frustrating and I find myself returning to Goodreads over and over since I can easily to this there.
I'd love to have this functionality here on Hardcover as well.

Custom statuses would be really nice. I had one on Goodreads for books that my kids have read that I have not.
Now that we have the ability to add the To Read like other lists to the Dashboard, it just makes me want the ability to have a Wishlist status even more than before.
It would be so great to be able to go to my dashboard and see my Want to Reads and my Wishlist side by side. Right now, they are pretty much the same thing even though there are 46 books in my wishlist List and 115 books in Want to Read.
That makes it pretty useless for me.
I would love to have a status for books i did not read from front to back but read certain chapters/parts...
