We're working on an update to our list pages that'll allow this. The idea is that anywhere there's a list of books it'd have the same controls and filtering options.

This is something we definitely want to do! Having that "type" for a book will allow for a lot of segmentation about the book.

For example, this would allow setting goals based on book type ("read 100 books" is a much different goal than "read 100 comic books").

So far none of the data sources we're using have data about the type of book. I suspect for this to work we'd need to allow user annotations to fill in the missing gap here. That could be completely community-driven, or moderator driven – that's to be determined – but having this categorization for every book is very important. to us too.
